078: The Division 2 Experience with Megan Link

As a former professional goalkeeper with playing, head coaching and specialized goalkeeper training experience at the D2 level, Megan Link of the Grand Valley State Lakers is perhaps the perfect representative of the NCAA’s Division 2. She brings all of her diverse experience and expertise to the table for this week’s episode.

Megan addresses the differences between Division 2 and the NCAA’s Divisions 1 and 3. As a four-year starter – and eventual head coach – for the Southwest Baptist Bearcats, she also sheds light on some common differences between public and private universities and soccer experiences at the D2 level.

In addition to sharing her extensive recruiting and playing knowledge, Megan also describes many of the other benefits that come with D2 athletic participation, and in particular, those offered by GVSU. And finally, she describes the courageous, confident – and communicative – goalkeepers that impress her on the recruiting trail.
