031: Jeff Attinella of the Portland Timbers
Coming off a thrilling shootout victory over their biggest rivals, Jeff Attinella and his Portland Timbers are riding high and preparing for the third Western Conference Final in franchise history.
In today’s episode, Jeff talks about the wild ride this season has been, that “MLS Instant Classic” shootout win, as well as another wild shootout victory he secured earlier in his career, to win an NASL title for the Tampa Bay Rowdies. (Both shootouts are linked below.)
In addition to penalty strategy, Jeff also talks about overcoming mistakes, some of the lessons he learned in the lower tiers of professional soccer, and the goalkeeping tools you can develop in other popular American sports.
