008: Trey Muse of the Indiana Hoosiers
In just his first season at Indiana University, Trey Muse stamped his name all over the NCAA and Big 10 Conference record books in helping lead the Hoosiers to the 2017 College Cup final. In today’s episode, he talks about his journey to Bloomington from Louisville, Kentucky, by way of Seattle, Washington.
Trey discusses his early playing days with the Derby City Rovers, his eventual move to Seattle as part of the Sounders Development Academy, and his father’s deliberate plan to keep him out of goal until later in his development.
Trey committed to Indiana in early 2017, moved in the Fall, and soon secured the starting job as a true freshman. He talks about his first collegiate season, including an epic three-save shootout victory over Michigan State to punch Indiana’s ticket to the College Cup.
Finally, we discuss the importance of having a commanding presence in goal – especially when you’re an 18-year-old kid trying to organize a back line of college seniors. I hope you enjoy the show!
